what kind of automatic small arms weapons did the US Army use in Afghanistan in 2002?

sounds like a weird question, but I am writing a novel and need to know. One of my characters had been there in 2001 to 2002.

    M4, M16, M9 pistol, M249 SAW, M240B

    m16's and m4's have been used throughout the 1960's-present day so they definatly used those but they also could have used sub machine guns such as a mp5, or ump
