What type of item of what subject? (clothing, tools, candles, etc)

Clothing: Mostly fabric was sold, and clothing were costume made for the rich, but anyone else would hand make their clothing. You would be able to buy hats, corsets, etc. and maybe shoes.

Domestic Supplies: Candles, soap, blankets, etc. would be made at home. You would be able to buy those at a store if you were rich, but even then your slaves or servants would make it at home.

Food: The places you would be able to buy food in the colonies would be at markets and taverns. Period. But you would not rely on that--you would have a garden at home also. If you were a traveler you would eat at taverns, but they were a main source of social activity, rather than eating.

Tools: Tools would be made by a 'smith. Whether a blacksmith, silversmith, gunsmith, nailsmith etc. all metals would be handcrafted by a 'smith.

Wood Products: any wood products were probably made the male slaves or the men of the house. But, richer, finer, or bigger projects were made by a carpenter. They might make anything from buckets and barrels to a cabinet.
