Do i have swine flu? If i do, will I be well enough on saturday?

I am planning on going to the doctor today but...just wanted some other opinions. Okay so I got sick sunday evening, and was very sick monday, yesterday and still feel horrible today. I have a pounding headache all the time, my body aches everywhere, I am freezing cold or super hot, my throat just started hurting really badly last night and I'm sneezing and coughing and the cough is starting to hurt. It's very hoarse. I feel like crap and was wondering if that could be what it is. I have NOT been to school or work for two days, and today I have an exam which I must go to in the afternoon. Do you guys think that by Saturday I will be able to take my son out trick or treating? I also had a costume party to go to....do you think I'll feel better by saturday? someone answer ahh this is horrible I feel like crap. I'm going to the doctor this morning...

Update:

I am still going to take my son out on halloween and atleast go to the party for a bit...its sad because I was looking forward to the party so much, I never get to go out because I do have a son...arg this is horrible...I still will go anyways, hopefully I will get some powerful medicine lol.

My sister just tested positive for it. The doctor told her if she had to be out in public to wear one of the coughing masks. They also said once the fever breaks you should be fine. Just keep plumping yourself up on fluids, that's the biggest mistake people make when they're ill. Just because you don't feel thirsty doesn't mean your not dehydrated, and that's usually the breaking point for your system.

You could have your son hand out the candy at the door for the trick or treaters, that way he still can have some fun. Other than that I would just stay home, the stress could cause it to get worse.. I hope you feel better soon.

It is important that as swine flu spreads, you know the symptoms of the disease so you can recognise it in yourself and others at an early stage.

Please read this page and consider your symptoms carefully before using the National Pandemic Flu Service mentioned below.

So far, most swine flu cases have been mild, with symptoms similar to those of seasonal flu. Only a small number of people have had more serious symptoms.

If you or a member of your family has a fever or high temperature (over 38°C/100.4°F) and two or more of the following symptoms, you may have swine flu:

    unusual tiredness,

    headache,

    runny nose,

    sore throat,

    shortness of breath or cough,

    loss of appetite,

    aching muscles,

    diarrhoea or vomiting.

If you have swine flu you will not be well before saturday!

    Hi S. Boucher.

The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, including 2009 H1N1 and have respiratory symptoms without a fever. Severe illnesses and deaths have occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

For more info please visit http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/

What are “emergency warning signs” that should signal anyone to seek medical care urgently?

    In children:

    • Fast breathing or trouble breathing

    • Bluish skin color

    • Not drinking enough fluids

    • Not waking up or not interacting

    • Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held

    • Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

    • Fever with a rash

    In adults:

    • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

    • Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen

    • Sudden dizziness

    • Confusion

    • Severe or persistent vomiting

There are also everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like the flu.

Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

    • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.*

    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.

    • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

    • If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) Keep away from others as much as possible to keep from making others sick.

Other important actions that you can take are:

    • Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.

    • Be prepared in case you get sick and need to stay home for a week or so; a supply of over-the-counter medicines, alcohol-based hand rubs * (for when soap and water are not available), tissues and other related items could help you to avoid the need to make trips out in public while you are sick and contagious.

What is the best way to keep from spreading the virus through coughing or sneezing?

    Take Care. Regards.

In frightening circumstances like those, its straightforward to bounce to conclusions. I even have study someplace that the incubation era is barely 2 days. in the experience that your indicators are not to any extent further suitable in morning, examine including your surgeon. dealt with early, swine flu is responding to a pair antiviral drugs.i could definately examine including your surgeon understanding you have been probable uncovered.
