Ethernet On the one of the sides or the back you will see what appears to be a phone jack only it is bigger that is where you plug the cable into witch you will need
Your running the windows xp pro operating system .
You have a cd rom only this will not wright cd's
There should be a regular phone jack probably next to the ethernet jack that is for using the regular phone line for dial up
Boot to bios this allows you to set up some things such the order of boot (1st cd 2nd hard drive0 and a few other things it also tells you a little more about your computer
if you get a wireless router you can set up for wireless buy buying a usb unit or a card that installs or a PCIMICA card that is the long slot on the side of the laptop.

Ethernet will let you get on the internet, not one of the best laptops
