If you were to see with your eyes Paradise and Hell, will that increase your Imaan?

Aren't we suppose to have the same Yaqeen (assurance) in the unseen.

where did you get this understanding ?

Whereas one better than you asked to see something in order to increase in imaan,

2:260. And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said, "My Lord! Show me how You give life to the dead." He (Allah) said: "Do you not believe?" He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Yes (I believe), but to be stronger in Faith."........

    and Allaah knows best

    ===EDIT===

I am not saying not have yaqeen,

    as Allaah describes, translated :

2:4................and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.).

2:5. They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.

What I find difficulty with in your question is that we are to have the same level of yaqeen and imaan after we see jannah and jahannum than before.... as seems implied from your question,

and this seems to go against the ayah 2:260.above.

You may also wish to read the commentary of Ibn katheer (in his famous tafseer) under this ayah.

    Allaah knows best wassalaamu alaykum

    Assalaam Alaikum Warahamatullah Wabarakatahu

The assurance which is in the Quran is enough for those who believe. But I do understand what you mean, there are many who just can not see past this world, even though they may profess the words of Allah (swt) to be the Truth, they have to see things with the human eye in order to strengthen their Eemaan. However we know as Muslim's whatever Allah (swt) has said is the Truth thus we take it into account and follow what He (swt) has set out.

Of course, we are supposed to have the same assurance.

But, but, the sight of either heaven or hell will be a big change in our Imaan.

There are many ways to increase your Imaan.

To envision, very depictly, Paradise and Hell, is very difficult because our mentality is limited by Allah swt 's will, and we know that the Prophets could envision Paradise and Hell, from my seclusion, and that Umar bin Khattab (ra) lived this world as if he was seeing Paradise and Hell, and that he was so scared of sinning in this world.

    And Allah knows Best.

Walaikumsalam. From an-Nu'maan ibn Basheer (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who pronounced that i heard Allaah's Messenger (s.a.w) say: "That it is lawful is obvious, and that it is forbidden is obvious, and between them is doubtful concerns approximately which lots of the individuals have not got information. So whoever avoids the doubtful concerns saves his faith and his honour, and whoever falls into doubtful concerns falls into what's forbidden. purely like a shepherd who grazes (his sheep) on the brink of a private pasture (of yet another), he will quickly stray into it. certainly for each king there's a private preserve. certainly the preserve of Allaah are those issues which He has forbidden. certainly there's a chew of interior the physique which no be counted if it is nice, then the full physique is nice, yet whilst it is corrupt then the full physique is corrupt. certainly it is the middle." (pronounced by utilising al-Bukharee (eng. trans. a million/forty 4/no.forty 9) For strengthening the imaan you possibly can do: Superergatory prayers. examine the Qur'aan Do dhikr examine hadiths seek for information so as that they could understand.

only if Allah blesses me with understanding. muslims all have certainty (yaqeen) but at different levels. if a "muslim" have no yaqeen, how can he be a muslim? it would even border on hypocrisy i think, like those who pray "just in case the qur'an is the truth".

Erm.. i do know without a dount it is there but to see i think it would.. because you know what it looks like for real.. instead of not seing it.. you experiance the sight ..
