Here is the video FROM Woodland Scenics website:

Though they don't give specific instructions for RIPPLES... I've done ripples from moving boats by pressing in the ripples with tools (spatula, chopsticks, paintbrush-handles) as it dries. It's just a matter of practice... which is why many folks just leave things flat.

Good product... I've used it for the San Joaquin River, Niles Canyon River, and the Port of Stockton as well as several small running creeks on my railroad.

    GOOD LUCK !!

Check out this page at my site for some suggestions on making various kinds of "water" effects in dioramas/etc (usually from 2-part epoxy resins, but can be other materials too)... check out the links there for even more info:

....click on the sub-category called FAUX WATER about 2/3 of the way down the list at top of page for specifics on simulating water with various looks

I am not clear from your question whether you're using real water or something that looks like water, e.g. plastic. If it's the first, I would suggest some small motor under the water that would gently disturb it. Otherwise use glue and scissors to get the effect.
