Is Dexamethasone considered a pain killer?

I know it's a steroid, but does it have the same effects as say a percocet or vicodin? I know they give it to patients after a wisdom teeth removal for the pain but wondering if it has the same 'feeling' or effects as a vicodin would..? thanks.

    No steroids are not good pain killers for acute pain but may help in many chronic conditions causing pain.

    Dexamethasone is given after tooth extraction because they reduce swelling but for acute pain they are of little help.
