What is the best laptop to buy?

I'm 15 years old and I am about to purchase a laptop, what should I buy? My budget it $1,000.

Update:

Okay well my dad had a Mac before and said that it's a great computer however you'll need to purchase plenty of software...is this true?

    For $1,000, that's your best bet. You're not going to find a higher performance laptop for that price. It has everything you will need for anything from Word processing to playing games.

    mac = too expensive.

    go with pc

    1000 bucks can buy some pretty beastly hardware.

    intel core 2 duo with 2gb + ram

    decent size harddrive

    dell or hp is your best bang for your buck. you can configure/customize it on their websites.
