Will a burned DVD R Movie playback on a PS2?

My stupid DVD player broke and I have some DVDs to watch but they are burned copies. I rather burn out this PS2 (Since I have a PS3) before I go buy a new DVD player.

Update:

Oh, it's one of those older thick modles too. Got it in sometime in 2004.

    Don't think so. I tried it on mine a few years ago.But maybe there is a different way to burn it where it can.

    I've watch burned dvd's all the time on my PS2 !
