I installed Open Office 3.1 last night for Vista...?

and everything appeared to download and install fine. Now, though, when I click on the desktop icon for OO, it opens a window in Windows Explorer that lists the file folders on the hard drive, but I can't open any of the applications; none are listed, only file folders. Is this enough info to help?

I don’t know what has gone wrong. I have used OpenOfffice.org for years, both at home and at work and have used it under Vista and never seen such a problem.

Clicking on the desktop icon should open a window entitled “OpenOffice.org”. with a large box in the centre entitled “Welcome to OpenOffice.org”. Under this is a button for each OpenOffice. org application. Just click on a button to open a new file in the application to which the button applies.

You should also find an OpenOffice.org icon in your system tray. Right-clicking it will bring up a menu of all the OpenOffice.org applications.

If none of these work, try reinstalling.

Note that the centre for OpenOffice, org is at http://support.openoffice.org/ which provides access to forums and manuals.
