Why Does Yahoo Answers have categories like Religion and Spirituality and Politics and Government?
Knowing that very few people can discuss these without letting their emotions get the better of them? Didn't Yahoo ever hear that two things you don't discuss with strangers are politics and religion?
J Dog. No I don't expect it to be free but Yahoo Answers must. I asked this question because I find it ironic that Answers encourages discussion of these subjects but will hand out violation notices at a moment's notice. Besides, many of the questions in those categories can't really be answered without chatting.

That is a good question. I think most people come for debate, not as a source of guidance. Also, if you want to vent on an institution that has wronged you and do not have the guts/tact to do it intelligently -what better place than Yahoo?

Well they are popular categories, personally I would not set foot near them, because when you read other answers on here those categories get really heated. Too much hassle in the world to be bothered about getting involved with those subjects on here as well.
Obviously some people do like to vent their spleen on these subjects, it is supposed to be a question and answer site but not where those two categories are concerned. Yahoo is just catering to those people who do like to answer and ask in the R&S and Politics & Government. It takes all sorts to make a world!

Because people have questions about Religion and Spirituality and Politics and Government.
Seriously dude, that's your question? Did you seriously expect the internet to be free of strife and people arguing?
Wow.

There are people who do want to grow and learn more and that comes from seeing reality. Sometimes reality cracks the shell we live in and we live/learn and go on. I just keep cracking and the categories give an unlimited # of reasons to live and learn.
