How to get rid of adware?

Hello, i believe i have adware. If i click a link from google i get directed to a random website. I have tried running my computer on safe mode, then using Nortons and Malware bytes anti spy, but none have resolved my problem. I got rid of all the infected objects and the search was on thorough. Any advice on how to clear this up?

    You are infected with spyware if:

    * You see too much pop-up advertisements.

    * Your browser has toolbars that you haven't installed.

    * Your homepage has changed (and you can't change it back).

    * Other settings have changed without your permission.

    * Your computer is slow.

    To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you can use an antispyware or even more.

    You can download a antispyware software. There are 10 good anti-spywares.

    Malwarebytes is a really good program. The freeware version will remove viruses etc. Give it a go if your infection will allow you to download it. I had to put it on a cd for some guys at work.
