Can I burn iTunes movies to DVD?

Specifically if I plug my computer into my TV using an HDMI cable and the use a DVD recorder? I plan on buying a DVD recorder if I can, but do not want to buy one if it will not work.

iTunes movie and music have the DRM protection. you have to remove it at first. There is a Aimersoft Media Converter which you can use to remove the DRM protection and burn DRM protected iTunes videos/movies/TV shows to DVD playable on home DVD player and enjoy on the widescreen TV. What you need to do are just two steps:

    1. Remove DRM protect from purchased iTunes video/movie/TV show to unprotected files.

    2. Burn the non-protected files to DVD or convert it to other format .

iTunes doesn't allow users to burn iTunes movies or TV shows to DVD directly. If you want to burn movies or TV shows downloaded from iTunes store on to a DVD for playback on your DVD player or backup iTunes movies and TV shows to DVD discs, you'll need to get a DRM removal tool to remove the iTunes Digital Rights Management (DRM) license protection first and then find a DVD authoring program to convert the DRM free Video to DVD format for burning to DVD.

You can take a look at this tutorial to learn how to put iTunes Movies and TV Shows onto a DVD:
