reuniting with an old love...?

so here's the thing...i had a long distance relationship that lasted almost a year, i really was in love with him but being continents apart was eventually an issue so my (ex) boyfriend decided to end the relationship. The last time i saw him was in February this year and we split up on May...we talk from time to time and we get along well...about a week ago he told me he was coming on January with some friends and that he'll like to see me...the thing is i'm really not over him yet and i don't wanna get hurt as i think the chances of getting back together are short...i don't really know what he feels about me and i'm kinda scared to see him but at the same time i'm dying to. what will you guys do in my place? if agreeing to meet him, how would you act? thanks a lot!!
