Why is this Dr. speaking out against Pelosi's Health Care Bill?

And when others realize what's in it, will they too speak out?

http://biggovernment.com/2009/11/01/obamacare-vs-t...

Some excerpts:

This current version of a Federal Government takeover of the health care delivery system is a carbon copy of what Obama, Pelosi and Reid tried to “jam” through Congress in July, with a couple of “new” additions to strip every American of even more Freedoms. As Yogi Berra once said, “It’s deja vu all over again.”

This version gives the rationing board, already established through The Stimulus Bill (The Federal Coordinating Council For Comparative Effectiveness Research), additional funding to establish a “Center” to institute the rationing of care. Rationing is the heart and soul of this legislation. Rationing, as a method of “cost cutting,” is the most inhumane and unethical means of health care cost containment. By definition, these bureaucrats will overrule licensed doctors, and preside over the denial of health care.

This Bill also creates a government regulated insurance “Exchange,” which will include a government subsidized and run insurance company, funded by The Treasury Department for start up costs of $2 Billion of tax payer money. This “Exchange” will be overseen by a Federal bureaucrat given the title: “The Health Choices Commissioner.” The “Commissioner” will establish benefit standards for ALL members of the “Exchange,” not just the government-run company. In other words, this Government CEO-equivalent will set the rules for all private companies who are “in competition” with the Federal Government. How fair is that? Sorry, I should have realized. This is NOT about fair. It is about CONTROL. Too much government control is a recipe for disaster.

    The bill is bad.

Federal Health Bill Calls For Billions in Orwellian Psych Programs and Treatments

Information: As the entire country is aware, there is currently an effort in Congress to pass a massive “Health Care Reform” bill. In fact, Congressional leadership is doing everything in its power to pass this $1 trillion plus bill.

There are two versions of the bill — one in the House (H.R. 3200) and one in the Senate (there is no number for the Senate bill at this point, but it is titled the Affordable Health Choices Act).

Both bills forward massive increases in government funding of mental health programs that turn America into a full blown therapeutic state...

    UPDATE (WHOLE TEXT here)

    http://www.cchrint.org/legislative-alerts/federal-...

UPDATE: New Health Care Bill Drafted by House of Representatives Filled with Psycho/Pharma Industry Agenda

Information: The newly-forged 1990-page “Affordable Health Care for America Act” (HR 3962) offered by the House of Representatives is filled with mental health provisions intended to prop up psychiatry as well as the pharmaceutical industry with billions in future income. Key mental health components of this House bill:

    Mental Health Parity

The bill mandates Mental Health Parity, or equal insurance coverage for mental disorders as what are covered for physical diseases, whether under their regular health insurance or whether a person gets their new coverage through the Health Insurance Exchange.  Psychiatric patients are traditionally “cured” when their insurance benefits run out.  In this bill, those benefits never run out.  Considering there are no medical tests to verify the existence of any psychiatric disorder, and without anything other than a psychiatrist’s opinion about whether or not the person’s “illness” is “cured,” this legislation becomes nothing more than taxpayer funded billions to the psycho/pharmaceutical industry who will continue their jihad of mass drugging of Americans.  This provision could easily encompass all 374 diagnoses in psychiatry’s diagnostic manual, covering everything from Phase of Life Problem to Arithmetic Disorder.  Section 214, Page 100

    School Based Health Clinics

The bill includes funding for School Based Health Clinics that will include subjective psychiatric mental health screening (called mental health assessments) of children, and “referral to a continuum of services including emergency psychiatric care, community support programs, inpatient care, and outpatient programs” as part of their “comprehensive primary health services.”  This is a direct feeder line for the psycho/pharmaceutical industry directly into our schools. – Section 2511, Page 1352

If the government would slow down and take a breather maybe they could get some people with knowledge to help them. The right and the left are not doctors or medical people. They are out of their area of knowledge (if they have a area of knowledge) and need some people with more brains to help with this problem. This is like being in a aircraft at 40, 00 feet and all engines stop so they ask the passengers how to start the engines back up. Get a pilot to start the engines and the smart people to figure out the medical problems.

Because they are lied to. First of all, Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. And change the system so that it is cheaper, and also so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland where private companies are involved in providing insurance. Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well. Third, Obama campaigned on reforming the healthcare system. He said he wanted to make insurance more available and he was elected by the American people to do this. FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage. FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet. That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

They tell the public this is the only way and it is not true.

I found this article on the research the Government did and it contradicts Obamacare.

Richard Foster, Chief Actuary for the Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, released this week to several Congressional offices a financial analysis of HR 3200, the House version of ObamaCare. He reached some inconvenient conclusions for President Obama and Congressional Leadership:

-“Total national health expenditures under this bill would increase by an estimated 2.7 percent in 2019…”

-“The additional demand for health services could be difficult to meet initially with existing health provider resources and could lead to price increases, cost-shifting, and/or changes in providers’ willingness to treat patients with low-reimbursement health coverage.”

-More than half of the expansion in coverage (18 million out of 34 million) would be from increased Medicaid coverage.

-12 million people would lose employer-sponsored coverage.

-The productivity adjustments to Medicare are “unrealistic” and providers “might end their participation” because the cuts would make serving Medicare beneficiaries unprofitable.

-Medicare Advantage enrollment would decrease by 64 percent (from a projected level of 13.2 million to 4.7 million under the proposal).

As of today, HHS still hadn’t published the analysis on their website, even though it was written by its own staff. We have a feeling it may never find a home there. So, we’ve brought it to you directly. Full financial analysis below.

It's funny how it does not quote the bill, and how it takes this "The Federal Coordinating Council For Comparative Effectiveness Research" and calls it this "rationing board."

It uses fear catch phrases in CAPS lettering, which is not the mark of a doctor, but a fear monger.

Because, no matter what the controversial issue is, those that are affected by it you can always find someone against it.

Most doctors are for some kind of regulations and believe the current system is broken.

Robert Reich Invents Lame 'Out of Context' Excuse to Explain Away Brutal Health Care Truths

    By P.J. Gladnick | October 16, 2009 - 19:59

Robert Reich has finally responded to the audio of him telling "brutal truths" to an audience at Berkeley which your humble correspondent chronicled here in NewsBusters on Tuesday. Here are the gems delivered up by Reich as to what he claims an honest candidate for president would say about health care if he didn't worry about getting elected:

"We're going to have to, if you're very old, we're not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months. It's too expensive...so we're going to let you die."

"...I am going try to reorganize it to be more amenable to treating sick people but that means you, particularly you young people, particularly you young healthy people...you're going to have to pay more."

"...What that means, less innovation and that means less new products and less new drugs on the market which means you are probably not going to live much longer than your parents."

So what was Reich's excuse for these assertions? Why he was "taken out of context." Here is Reich making his claim on Wednesday:

Robert Reich Reveals Brutal Health Care Truths; MSM Snores

    By P.J. Gladnick | October 13, 2009 - 16:54

Paging Congressman Alan Grayson! Here is a quote that validates what you said about those EVIL Republicans:

"We're going to have to, if you're very old, we're not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months. It's too expensive...so we're going to let you die."

Aha! So it turns out that Grayson was right when he said "Republicans want you to die quickly." Only one "little" problem here. That quote did not come from a Republican. In fact it came from the very liberal former Labor Secretary Robert Reich who is now an economics adviser for Barack Obama.
