I am a single mom with kids and I am trying to apply for hud housing and can not find out where or how to apply. Does anyone with the answer be willing to share. So much appreciate it.

Without knowing what county you live in, I can't tell you exactly, but look in the phone book or online for the county housing authority.
www.hud,gov is the HUD website where you can also find information.
The bad news - you will have a long wait to qualify for housing assistance, especially in CA there are many people waiting and very little funding.
