I'm scheduled for blood transfusions for Leukemia, can any one ease my mind that has had this done?

I am worried about getting weird diseases.

My son routinely had blood transfusions . . it was no big deal. They bring in a bag, hang it on the IV pole, attach it to your central line, and it goes in just like any other fluid. It usually helped make my son feel better almost immediately.

The blood banks do boat loads of screening on any blood that gets transfused into humans. There is virtually no chance of getting anything today.

I have had more transfusions than I can count, and have never gotten any disease from it.
