Healthy to eat cottage cheese & yogurt everyday?
I have always been a healthy eater, VERY health conscious, not a fan of funk food, gaven up carbonated drinks as of 6th grade and always been active in sports. Just for fun I began an all veggie fruit diet as an experiment for myself to see if I lose any weight.
Dont get me wrong Im happy w/my self now, it was for fun + who wouldnt like to shed a few pnds. Whats the harm in trying besides slimming down :D.
Surprisingly I did, in 2wks Iv lost 6pnds. My daily work out is 1hr min 5-6times wkly. Now that Im on a role I'd like to see how much more I can lose, Im moderating my food intake w/more fiber/carbs/protein etc etc. However Im hooked to cottage cheese & yogurt I was disgusted w/them before. Is it good to eat small portions everyday?
Any other suggestions will be GREAT ! ! !

as long as they're small portions - they're very fatty! They're great for a healthy snack when you wanna reach for that junk food, too. Technically, excluding processed food, everything is considered "healthy" if eating it in small portions, so every now and then, feel free to have that bowl of ice cream :-)

Okay, I can't say that I have too much to say in the way of dieting but I have worked in the dairy industry, made different cheeses and even yogurt. For one thing, a lot of cheeses contain between 20-40%. Yogurt on the other hand is made with skin milk so realistically should have next to no fat at all. Both of these products contain a fair bit of calcium and a few other various things that aren't too important. Dairy products in general are very good for you in moderation because they are about the only food/drink item that contains all the amino acids that you body needs (might miss one or two but its still a big cut above the rest). The bacteria that is used in the fermentation of cheese and yogurt is widely known as good, its good for your gut mostly. Basically what I am getting at is that living off dairy products doesn't even come close to containing much in the way of your dietary needs. Milk and milk products do contain some very good things in addition to a normal diet, there is a reason why animals lactate milk, because of what it contains. There is also reason why animals stop drinking milk after a few months, because it doesn't contain enough of the other things that the body needs.

Cottage cheese and yogurt are some of the healthiest foods on the planet. One should never eat the same food everyday over a long period of time, as your body eventually could develop allergen issues with that food. Granted, this could take a long time but it is best to eat a variety of healthy foods and switch them out every once in awhile.
