Not really, everyone has their own words of wisdom for themselves and it's based on our own personal experience. I don't get why are they trying to tie in control and manipulation with the wise. Not all authority has wisdom.

Not if they are truly wise, unless they try to get controlling. That video was not talking about the wise but about people with a political (or other) agenda, who seek to persuade you to side with the right or the left or to support this or that cause.
To be on TV or NBC or CBS, etc., doesn't make you wise.
In you question, the words "the wise" should at least be in quotes.
Real wisdom is valuable and should be listened to if the hearer is willing.
Look up the definition of "wisdom."

never, the wise only know and do the right thing, why be suspicious, unless you don't want to caught out on something, but the wise usually keep away from trouble

No, but it can be hard to tell who is really wise and who is just trying to act that way
