what is the difference between two A/C adapters with different details?

i need to buy a AC adapter for sony vaio laptop, and i need

1: Sony 19.5v , VGC AC 19v26

would it work with Sony 19.5v , VGP AC 19v24

    I am not sure, but from experience, purchase only a Sony brand adapter that is specifically made for that laptop.

    Do not buy 'after-market' units. They aren't worth it - it costs more to mail it back and have it replaced under warranty than it would be to buy the proper one.
