Is it just me or is The Yankee Stadium crowd not the same?

It didn't sound half has loud has the old Yankee stadium. It's like they lacked passion. I blame it on the stadium.

"The House That Ruth Built" is no thing, but The House That Steinbrenner Built", is another. It's a new era with new fans. I'm afraid that much of Yankees history will be lost forever when the old ball park is torn down.

I had always hoped that they would turn the old stadium into a baseball museum. What a wonderful attraction that would have been. They could have constructed restaurants, movie theaters showing Yankees baseball as well as major league history. Monument park could have stayed. People could have had the opportunity to walk on the hallowed grounds on the stadium. Walk in the same spots as Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Roger Maris and of course Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. What a thrill that would have been.

It's a different element in both NY stadiums, the old fans are more or less locked out anymore with the increased ticket prices. I noticed the same thing in CitiField last April.

The old "feeling" is gone. My cousin lives in Chicago and is a White Sox fan, says the same thing about their new ballpark which is now about 15 years old.

It's not the crowds, the stadium is different and sound carries dfferently. It's more solid, compared to the old stadium which would kind of rock and shake and make noise of its own.

It's cause tickets are expensive, especially for the World Series. The true fans can't go, mostly rich business owners have the oppurtunity to go. Don't worry.. we were plently loud in our own homes.
