I'm travelling to Germany and Switzerland next year. Can I bring these items back to the US with me?

How much liquor or beer can I bring back into the US?

How about cheese and chocolate? Can I legally bring these edibles back with me in my checked luggage?

Liquor / beer is normally related to what one person can drink so probably something like 4-5 bottles.

Cheese is a no-no as this is considered fresh produce and might have bacteria in them that can harm the vegetation in your home country.

Chocolate should not be a problem and I think it is unlimited (well again based on sort of normal consumption)

Check your US embassy website or your flight airline website. They normally give you information.

I do not know how much liquor or beer you can bring home.

You can bring chocolate, any amounts as long as you pay duty when you get over your allowance for taxfree imports.

Cheese is mostly not allowed. Only processed cheese that is packaged under conditions and transported according to rules can be imported into the US, I do not think your personal transports will meet those rules.
