my girlfriend has irregular periods, is there any way to tell when she's ovulating?

Because we don't want to increase the risk of her becoming pregnant and can stay away from having sex during this time.

Well, if she has irregular periods the first step should be for her to see the doctor and find out what the reason for the irregularity is.

But unless you decide to become an expert in cervical positioning and cervical mucous you are not likely to know when she's ovulating if she's that irregular. You should use a more reliable form of birth control instead.

I have irregular periods...and I can just tell I am on mine.

    But you can't just know.

Like you can't calculate when you are going to because you don't even know when your period will be starting.

I get strange cramping in my lower right abdomen and a little in my back.

Her breast may be very sore and sensative.

Here are some things a bout it:

Sorry I put four...But It's good for her and you to know.

    I hope this helps!

I think there are ovulation tests, similar to pregnancy tests (you pee on them to find out). but you still want to be careful, because you can still get pregnant if its before ovulating, up to 8 days before I've heard.

go buy the pee test that tells you if you ovulating. its new. you may want to see a dr. if that doesn't help. good luck.

No. There is no way to count days, etc. when your period is irregular. Please use protection at all times or you risk pregnancy.
