Writing a rap song question?
When you write a rap song, does each line have to have a rhyme?
also, if you are rapping about your life, does it give the song credibility?

Yes, rap about yourself and be honest.
Don't pull a wannabe poser thug mentality.
Look at Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park for an example. He raps about real life issues, but much better than Eminem. I personally can't stand that guy. But be more like Mike, swearing is good as well, as long as it isn't overkill, like Fred Durst.
Not every verse has to rhyme, but it does sound better. Also, try Immortal Technique and Tech n9ne for GOOD rap music on a darker level.

In rap, nothing has to rhyme. Rhymes within rhymes are used to keep your interest in a song. Some rappers never do it, others do it constantly.
It's a choice you'll have to make.
If you're rapping about your life, then yeah if it's true it gives your song credibility.

Well if you look at other rap songs by rappers you would get a good idea. A rap song doesn't need to rhyme, it's just the writers choice to pick if they want it to rhyme or not.

It doesn't matter if every line has a rhyme or not; it's your song.
And if you're rapping about actual events in your life and not lying then it's credible.
@dude: That was a very, very poor example.

It depends on your rhyme scheme which determines if your going to have each line rhyme or not.
Just make sure it makes sense and it tells a good story.

get most of them to rhime, but get a few that don't and roll them out into the next one. it flows nice when you drop a few lines that rhime halfway through the word, like :
Flow like chemical, makes me me wanna hit that
Gone all crazy like she got caught by the mad hat-ter
get it? it's tough, just feel it, and if you really want to write good ****, freestyle for a minute, then right downt he best lines you came up with
