Either on prescription or on loan?

"Light boxes are not currently available on the NHS. If you contact a SAD support group or organisation, such as the Seasonal Affective Disorder Association, they should be able to give you a list of suppliers."
Alongwith most types of alternate therapies which might actually WORK!, light boxes aren't available on the NHS. I am so sorry that you're suffering from SAD. I do too, and it's horrible. Especially when you're surrounded by loved ones who are extreme skeptics.
And as the previous poster recommended getting the daylight or full spectrum bulbs, you might want to see about that. I tried them for a winter and they made the room brighter but as such didn't really help - me, at least. And since they cost a lot of money and use a lot of energy, it's wise to think about it carefully before making the investment...
My advice is for you to walk in the daytime daily. Even if you feel you can't drag yourself to the bathroom to make yourself presentable, just tell yourself "Look, I'm going to feel the same regardless. I might as well go outside for a walk and feel miserable and hope that it might make a difference in how I feel." But with the anxiety, it can be hard.
I hope you have someone whom you can ask to accompany you on those walks. Makes so much of a difference.... my best wishes and prayers are with you!

I have six 75-watt equivalent CFL (Compact Fluorescent) "daylight" bulbs in my room with the computer and stereo, they really light it up!!
That helps me a lot with SAD, you might check them out. You need a "K" number of at least 6000 - the higher the better.
Being the "compact fluorescent" bulbs, they really don't take a lot of electricity, and they aren't that expensive either. And they make a big difference!!

Not that I know of.
Have you changed all your light bulbs to the daylight bulbs as sold in craft shops and others!

I'm unsure, but obviously it can help with your treatment! So bring it up with the professional you're seeing. I would imagine they would pay something towards it. Good luck :) x
