6 wk old baby crying uncontrollably and seems very uncomfortable..help!?
and before anyone starts--weve already been to the dr..
she told me to call back tuesday if its not any better..
but a few days ago.. my 6 week old started crying alot..it seemed like she was just fussy..
and now she is constantly straining like shes trying to use the bathroom.. but theres nothin there for a while.
she is screaming hysterically and clenching up and stretching and straining..she eats fine..thats actually the only thing that makes her stop crying..
but it seems like she has a horrible tummyache..and idk what to do to help her..
i did eat alot of dairy the other day.. probably equal to about 8 oz of cream cheese.
but i have since laid off the dairy.. but she seems like shes in pain or something is bothering her sooo bad.. she isnt using the bathroiom quite as much as she had been.
its still pretty liquidy and orangish.
has anyone had this problem before?
please help this is our first child and we have no idea whats wrong with her or what to do to help..
i have tried gripe water and gas releif drops,, they help her to ease to sleep but then she wakes up 15 minutes later screaming and grunting..

I agree with the first answerer that it sounds like colic. One of my 3-month old twins has it (started at about 3 weeks) and is just starting to get a bit better now although he still has some off days. Apart from Mylicon drops which I'm not sure are so useful, we found that white noise helps him relax so we spend many a fun evening swaying with him in arms next to the tumble drier. Unfortunately, the only position in which he seems comfortable is on his stomach so i sometimes put him down on his tummy and then watch him like a hawk. Once he gets to sleep then I flip him onto his back. Other than that (and singing and rocking as the other answerer suggested) all you can do is wait for it to pass.
Oh, and a baby sling is helpful too for daytime so you can do some normal things and also in the evening as the movement and warmth may help him get to sleep.

that sounds like colic. I had to go through all the constant screaming, crying and not sleeping for about 2 months. Now she's 3 months and getting much better every day
u can only ease it but u cant make it go away , it will by itself around 3-4 months.
keep using gripe water, rub her stomach in circle motion softly, talk to her and sing to her as that can make her busy for a while and stop screaming.
good luck for you hope thats the case with u and this would help
