About 2 years ago a car was gave to me, which needed a lot of repair?
now we finally have it working. I did not register or transfer the title. The title is still in the name of the person that gave it to me. He just signed the title and dated it 2 years ago. I live in Indiana. I want to plate the car but what kind of penalty will I have. thank you.

Assuming that you did not drive it and that the car was just sitting in a garage or similar for repair you should be fine.

If you talk to BMV and tell them that the car didn't run and you just fixed it you should be ok
