New York City trip????
Hi, my school is offering a trip to New York City (it's optional) and is asking for $1200. My dad says it's too much, and should cost less.
details: we are taking a coach bus (from Toronto, Canada), and we are seeing 2 or 3 plays/performances, seeing museums, etc.....the cost includes paying for these.
Oh and it is 6 days, but 2 of those days are driving. (one driving there, one driving back.)
SO, is it too much and not worth it? or are they charging reasonably?

Honestly, it is worth it. It actually should be that expensive.
The musicals/plays are pretty expensive. So it should cost that much. Going on the coach bus twice is also expensive so no its not expensive and they are charging it reasonably.
Look at this:
Coach bus per person:
about 50 dollars an hour
plays/musicals:
about 120$ per person(2 or 3)
And also, the food!!

It would cost a lot less if you take the train. VIA Rail trains, which operates as Amtrak in the States, goes to and from NYC. Check with their website, you might get discounted fare for group travel on the Maple Leaf Service between Toronto and the Big Apple.

That is EXTREMELY reasonable. Broadway shows alone can cost around $100 per person. Even the worst hotels are at least $175 - $200 per night. So, it's your Father who needs the reality check, not your school.

NYC is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Have your dad check hotel rates at www.tripadvisor.com then he'll realize that this is a reasonable rate. Broadway plays are easily $100.00 per ticket.
That said, it's well worth it...NYC is an incredible place!

i think it costs to much, im planning a trip for 2 to new york, and in all with flights-car-hotel, its about 1200.00

well its quite enough it like 200doll per day...dont go...save them and when u find a better occasion "invest" them
