I answered a similar question recently

and below is a cut & paste of my answer.

My opionion has not changed and I doubt

    that it will.

Ordinary Turkish people and Turkish policies are not the same

therefore we cannot, must not be judge & jury to everyone that

    is Turkish.

I would certainly break bread and take a cup of coffee with a Turkish

friend even though my beloved country is Illegally Occupied.

All over the world there are conflicts between most ethnic groups due to religion, borders, and just about anything they can think of to clash with each other. This includes the Greeks and the Turks, with Cyprus as a good indicator, I dont think the problem is any thing like it used to be but the under lying tensions are always there.

I, as a Greek don't have any problem with Turks. I had and still have many Turkish friends. We sometimes even talk about our religion, without cursing each other like every troll here do. Maybe our politics are different, and sometimes tend to create "conflicts", but that doesn't mean that we as Greeks dislike/have problem with Turkish people, because it's not their fault that some people "up" there are "bad" politicians.

Some do, some don't. I believe that a normally functioning human being without any mental health problems cannot, on an extended period, harbour hate against a group of people. There are people nutty ones like that, but that's because they are "nutty". If they did not hate group A, they'd hate group B. "Hating A" or "Hating B" is the dependent variable in the function.

On the whole though, I find it interesting that questions like this are never enquired after by Turks but by various other people. As if there's anything interesting about the questions themselves.

I do hate jingoistic people in general, regardless of their country. Mentality of those, whose intellectual experience is limited to reading the backs of cereal boxes, is more ***backward*** than the most ill-bred, uncouth pig shepherd in existence. These people may not understand or appreciate how a person can love his/her country without running around like a half-mad peacock incessantly talking about her cheap, shiny, fake feathers. Go watch gossip girl, listen to 50 cent or something, leave the attempt of intelligent input to others.

Finally you can FEEL great by putting down your neighbour's son, but you can't convince others that you ARE great.

Well, racists and extreme nationalists can be found anywhere of course, but most people are intelligent enough not to judge others by their nationality. The same goes for Greeks.

Albanians appreciate Turks. Albanians "love" Grek boyz.

Every evening I go in the neighborhood at Why Not Cafe in Athens. Grek boys are offering themselves to us, Albanian workers. They beg: Lets play marmango, sir.

Marmango is Grek national gay dance.

Unfortunately there are more than one answers to that question. Some greeks hold great grudges against Turkey. That mostly happens to old greek people, but to young ones too. Most people I know don 't really like thembut they don't hate them either.

Personally,I 'd like to visit Turkey but I'm aware that a great number of its people are not that good. There are always exceptions though.

    Hope helped you.

  • There is tension among countries everywhere. I think for that area, the most animosity would be between Turks and Kurds (who want their independence).

    No, they don't.

But Greeks and Greece have problem with Turkey's politics (and vice versa)

In individual level, the relations are pretty friendly
