Has anybody just watched The Hanging of Gary Glitter?

Yes i watched it and i found it very upsetting. It was very realistic and hilton mcrae was so brilliant in his portrayal as gary glitter that it was hard to distinguish one from the other. Wot gary glitter did in reality was sick beyond belief and he should be castrated. But to hang sum1 for their crimes is to swap one evil 4 another. Thou shalt not kill. Hate the sin not the sinner. Wots the bloody point of the bible and the 10 commandments if those in power do not follow wot they claim 2 believe in? Killing sum1 is wrong no matter who does it. There has to be another way to make those monsters pay 4 their crimes instead of making a murderer out of sum1 else.

Knowing the British public, I can imagine a quite few of them thought it actually happened. After all, When Victor Meldrew ( One Foot In The Grave ) was "killed off", The BBC actually received sympathy cards and flowers.

We taped it. I am just watching it now the defence has just done his bit. I don't like this sort of drama. They have just sentenced him to death.

No, I haven't watched it yet but whatever scenario they portrayed isn't gruesome enough imo. That scumbag should be hung, drawn and quartered but tortured first.

i couldn't watch it - The concept seemed as twisted as he is - I managed about 3 minutes - Awful programming

i watched some of it. excellent performance from hilton mc rae, but i just couldn't watch the subject matter.
