Social Darwinism: "that individuals or groups achieve advantage over others as the result of genetic or biological superiority." ..reason is the foremost biological mark of homosapiens - not aggression"
1. Competition among all individuals, groups, nations, or ideas drives social evolution in human societies.
A. Darwinism - social adaptation of the theory of natural selection as stated in his book On the Origin of the Species. His conclusion was that the white race is superior to all others.
B.Natural selection explains speciation in populations as the outcome of competition between individual organisms for limited resources or "survival of the fittest." (term coined by Herbert Spencer the anthropologist) or the theory by Andrew Carnegie, "The Gospel of Wealth."
C. Darwin's cousin Francis Galton founded eugenics toward the end of the 19th century and was also considered a "Social Darwinist" by those opposed to Darwin's theory and ideas. Advocates rarely use the term.
D. Some argue that Nazi Germany was strongly influenced by social Darwinist ideas.
