Is suspension enough punishment for New Mexico Soccer player Elizabeth Lambert?

Being caught up in the moment is a lame excuse for such bad sportsmanship. I heard she displayed this behavior throughout the game. Suspension for her is less than a slap on the hand. Judging from her demeanor, I doubt her apology was heartfelt.

she should be suspended for the rest of the season and maybe even the start of next season. it is inexcusable what she did. no matter how "caught up in the moment" you may be, if you're truly a fan of this sport, you should know wayyyyyyyyy better. im 16 and i know better. c'mon, fifa is directed towards FAIR PLAY, dont be doing this crap in ncaa. if she was on my team i wouldnt think twice about kicking her off, no matter who she is, shes off my team

Losing can be pretty tough, but it looks as though she has a track record of this kind of behavior. "Indefinite suspension" is a good start, but I think it should extend to at LEAST a season-ending suspension and loss of scholarship. She has hurt the reputation of NCAA women's soccer, and of the University of New Mexico that she represents, and she should have to pay clearer consequences for what she has done.

I'm surprised that only a yellow card was issued with everything that went on. The referees (and perhaps even the coaches) might be at least partially to blame, as well.

No, but take a step back to look at the full picture. Adults supervise the game,...what were the referees doing? I understand that she incurred several infractions; none of which were addressed during the game. That's one aspect. Her behavior reflects poor parenting and teaching. Her parents should be held just as responsible as she. This is a result of people choosing ignorance and apathy. SCARY! .As to the punishment? She should be eliminated from the team and she and her parents should perform community service. maybe a service for BYU!

At the least, one of those fouls absolutley demanded a red card. I understand she gets a one-game suspension? That's less than the standard requirement for a red card. Sit the girl for the remainder of the season, and get her some much-needed counselling!

Nope. What she did was totally inexcusable. Come on. She was pulling cheap stunts the entire game. Sure, her opponent wasn't exactly helping the situation, but does that give her the right to pull her pony tail as hard as she can? Nope.

Personally, I almost thing jail time would be appropriate. I would label some of the things she did as assault.

No, i think they should publicly chop his legs off just through the centre of his knees, very important must be through the centre and then the stumps must be burnt with a blow torch for 5 mins each to stop blood loss - i think then justice would have been delivered
