employment record and how long it is kept on file..?

how long to employers usually keep a record of former employees, after they have left the company?

    depends on the employer

    in most cases employee files need to be kept at least 4 yrs

    I had occasion to have the NCIS request employment information 12 yrs prior in a job I worked on a military installation

    I think that they keep their files for at least 7-10 years depending on the company. Now the files may all be mostly converted electronically so they might be able to pull you up very easily. On the app just put that you worked there previously and for how long. good luck!
