42RH transmission 95 Dakota 4x4?
was working fine all day, just as soon as i pulled into a parking spot, i had no gear ranges.no park no neutral,no reverse,no drive ranges. so cannot start the truck because it does not see park/neutral. any suggestions as to the culprit, like a neutral safety switch, or is the trans just dead.

check to make sure the shift linkage didnt fall off.

you lost the linkage on it or it has came loose,that's the only explanation for it loosing everything like that all at once,the tranny is probably good in it,just hook the linkage back up on it,good luck.
