Can anyone suggest some affordable hotels in Hong Kong?

Have stayed at 'Dorsett Far East' Hotel in Tsuen Wan several times - very affordable and near MTR.

Can anyone suggest a similar affordable and 'lesser known' hotel in Hong Kong not too far from an MTR station?

Thanks

Gemhak

If you're looking for budget hotels in the city, I suggest you check the link below. I stayed there before, and its very reasonable for Hong Kong living standards. Its in Kowloon on the main street just 30 metres maybe from the various entrances to MTR station. Kowloon is also always very lively with lots of shopping if you're into it.

Rooms are small but clean. Worth considering...

If you enjoy mountains, sea and a lot of green with fewer people, the Silvermine Bay Hotel in Lantau Island is probably the cheapest in town. The only thing is it can only be accessible by ferry from the Central Pier. A hotel located right in the heart of Temple Street in Yamatei comes with affordable price but some people may not like its surroundings.

Most 3-4 stars hotels in HK are nice and clean. Check Ramada Hotel in Western Districts of HK Island. Trams and buses stop right at the front door. It also operates a free shuttle to the Star Ferry on weekdays.

The Evergreen Hotel on Woo Sung Road, just off Nathan Road, close to Temple Street Night Market. Rates include breakfast and computer access. Hotel has a public washer and dryer and will store your luggage for you if necessary, the day you leave. (Meaning, you check out of the hotel, but can leave your luggage there until it's time for you to catch your plane or train.)

Five minute walk to the Jordan MTR.
