What sauce to serve with gnocchi?

I'm thinking about making gnocchi tonight but I've never had it before and I have no idea what sauce to serve with it! I'm looking for something simple but delicious!

Cream and gorgonzola cheese, or a creamy sauce with pesto in it even just baked with 3-4 cheese on it in a casserole.

My favorite with this type of pasta is a tomato cream sauce.... I make my traditional tomato sauce, and add about 1/2 cup of cream to it right at the end.

olive oil with garlic and basil. just toss to coat.

    marinara or any tomato sauce

butter and salt and pepper maybe a little sage or parsley

it would depend on what else you are serving.

there are a lot of options:

    regular pasta sauce

    alfredo

a scampi sauce (garlic, butter, white wine)

a red wine demi-glaze (clear beef gravy [3 parts], red wine [1 part], butter, mushroom, garlic)

since gnocchi is potato it is versatile
