10 MONTH OLD BABY STILL SPITTING UP???
I have a 10 month old boy who has always spit up a lot. He never seemed too bothered by it and gained weight appropriately so I never was concerned. Now he is 10 months old and still spits up or vomits many times a day. At least once after each feeding. It doesn't seem to make a difference whether we feed him his formula, baby food or solids, he spits it up no matter what it is. Like I said he is gaining weight (actually he's a BIG boy at 25 pounds already), but should I be concerned that he is STILL at 10 months spitting up so much? My boyfriend is constantly saying, "this can't be normal, he needs to see a doctor", but I don't know. Any ideas/suggestions?????
He has been to all his well-baby checks and I did mention at his 6 month. At that time the dr. said not to be concerned and that he would grow out of it. At his 9 month check (a month ago, I forgot to mention it). Do I wait till his 12 month or is it more urgent than that?

My son will be 8 months old on the 20th and still spits up also. He always has, especially in the morning after nursing and laying down all night. He doesn't do it as much after eating solids but still will on occasion. Everyone else is ALWAYS concerned with him and whether it is normal or not, if he's eating enough or not, etc. except myself and his pediatrician. If your mothering instinct tells you he is fine AND his pediatrician is telling you he is fine.. I bet he's fine!
My son was diagnosed with "reflux" at about 10 weeks old and his doctor advised me to pump and put a tad bit of cereal in the bottle and give it to him. I never did because I didn't personally agree with that and a second opinion told me not to AND my son never seemed the least bit bothered by his spit up so why fix something that wasn't really broken? The top of a baby's stomach does't tighten up until (normally) 6-9 months which is the reason babies CAN spit up. However, over feeding is a big cause as well. My son would nurse around the clock if I'd let him and a lot of times he just nurses a bit longer than he should. Make sure you aren't encouraging your son to finish every last drop of a bottle or every single spoonful of solids. He'll know when he's full and, even though he may WANT to keep eating, you'll probably notice when he should stop. Also, try to avoid laying him on his tummy to play/crawl right after eating. My son spits up a lot when he is sitting up or on his belly.
Zaiden's weight and height certainly haven't been affected by the spitting up either. He has always been WAY off the charts for both - He was 27 pounds 12 ounces and 30 inches long at his 6 month check-up and his doctor isn't concerned at all. He's just a big boy!
Anyway, if YOU are really concerned take him to another doctor for a second opinion. It won't hurt! If you're not concerned, don't let it bother you that your boyfriend or his mother or the cashier at WalMart are. Although it's sweet that he's concerned. :-)
I would have had this sent a while ago but Zaiden spit up all over the keyboard. :-) What a mess!! Oh, and he's getting his top two teeth right now which can cause more spitting up. Is your son teething?
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

you should have been taking him to a pediatritain for check ups. and when you take him you should have mentioned it to the doctor.
it sounds like he has reflux.
my baby did but it went away as she got older. she would spit up a pile on the floor. it was really bad. but my pediatrition said to try to switch her to soy formula and that helped a little but not too much. well now she is 12 months old and only spits up a tiny bit when she is getting a new tooth.
go see a doctor just to make sure its nothing serious.
