"do" as in "they did lose" can't be translated literally into French, so I translated it as "actually" (in this case, they actually lost)
I don't know what tense your teacher has taught you to use to translate the preterit (she passed, for example) so I used three tenses: imparfait / passé simple / passé composé. Your choice.

in other words, u should do your own homework. and those are such simple translations anyhow that u could even get google to do it reliably.
