can anyone tell me what kind of insect that is?
I thought it was a cricket but I'm sure i got bitten/stung by one
I can't find any information on them because I don't know their name

Yes, this is a Camelback Cricket. Some people call them cricket spiders, but they are not spiders. They are really harmless, do not bite or sting, but can jump straight at you if you get close to them, making them appear scary. Also, when they land, they land hard, which may make you think that it bit or stung you, but it didn't. Our neighbor kept a big tub of dogfood out in his porch and these things were all over, and in, it! Here's a website you can read about them. Hope that helps!

It is a cricket of some description - it even says so in the link address.
You can't be stung by one as they do not have the ability to do so. However, larger crickets can give a noticeable nip if harassed.

This is a cave cricket (not an actual cricket). It is a member of the Family Raphidiophoridae.
