i remember the 3 G's: gold, God, and glory
they hoped to find gold
they wanted to convert natives to Christianity
they wanted glory
maybe you could also say some people were bored and wanted some adventure
some people came as indentured servants after the colonies had started, they would work for free for 7 years and then their employer would pay for their trip from england and after the 7 years they would give them a little land and basic necessities and they could work on their own
wow us history was only last year for me and i already forgot other reasons, lol
