Anyone have experience with using the birth control called mirena?
Okay so I have been on mirena now for a little over a month and a half. The first 3 weeks I bled than I just stopped bleeding. Now I am having weird side effects that I believe are related to this birth control. Hot flashes, periodic nausea, periodic diarrhea, stomach upset, sometimes I have no appetite and others I am really hungry, and I am so tired but insomnia at night. The stomach upset, nausea and hot flashes are the worst. At first I thought it was the flu. But its been going on now for like 3 weeks. Anyone else go through this? I have had three children and I know what utis, bladder infections, yeast and all that feel like. I don't believe I have an infection. Before I call the doctor wanted to see if anyone else went through this. Any experience would be great thank you!

Im a 17 year old girl. I got my Mirena when I was 15, to settle my progestrone levels. My doctor told me that for the first 3 months there would be evidence of your body reacting to the implant, and for the next three months will be your body accomodating it. The first three weeks of your bleeding was probably "healing blood" and shouldn't be anything worth worrying about. I've never experienced any nausea, diarrhea or any of your symptoms (other then the first weeks of bleeding) in relation to my Mirena, nor have I heard anything like it from other people I know. I do suffer from bouts of insomnia but I know it is unrelated. My Mirena works almost perfectly, the only issue I'm having is that when I get it replaced in a few years I'd like to see if I could up the prgestrone dosage. I really hope this has helped you, and good luck.

Ive had my mirena for almost 2 years now. I will say, the first 6 months where AWFUL, but after that its been great. I was warned that he first 3 to 6 months could be bad, and they were, but now thats its over, Im glad I picled this birth control. I was so nausiated around the time I would get my period. I also got frequent headaches, crampy, and had ALOT of stomach pain. But now ive been period free since then and have none of those issues anymore. I like it now... but the first 6 months I hated it. I told my husband if it didnt get better after the 6 month mark, i was going to have it removed. Its still here, and here to stay until my 5 yrs on it is up.

Yes you're meant to have had a youngster already earlier than making use of this procedure, however allow me simply provide you with a warning that I had this and lots of of my girlfriends had and needed to have it eliminated due to the fact it was once terrible!!! Very painful and made me bleed at all times. I bled for eight months immediately earlier than having it eliminated. That is ridiculous. Another certainly one of my girlfriends cramped alot and it fell correct out of her. Lots of dangerous reports from the mirena, however doesnt imply she wont love it simply providing you with a heads up. I for my part HATE it!
