How do I make a 1% sucrose solution?

My teacher told us for a lab we must make a 1% salt solution and a 1% sugar (aka sucrose) solution. Seeing as making both would be done the same way, can somebody tell me how to make a 1% sucrose solution using distilled water? We have to use a good amount of water, so around 400ml.

This is done by weight, and with water also by volume.

    1g/100g solvent is 1%. For a water solution, 1g/100mL.
