PS3 Slim 250gb or Xbox 360 Elite For Christmas?
Well, i was originally planning on getting the PS3 250gb with Infamous and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. For Storm you need to install which uses up 40gb. I also like downloading demos, movies, and more so i know the 250gb will come in handy. Still I want to know if I should get the 120gb.
Then Came the Xbox360. I wanted to get Naruto: The Broken Bond and Magna Carta Two. I don't like the idea of paying for internet that much. But some people say you it's worth it.
I know the majority has xbox 360, but I know for a fact the PS3 is a better powerhouse. But I want to make sure I'm getting the right thing. Which one should I get?

This answer helped many others (Best Answer'd a bunch of times). Maybe it can help you. Read carefully, there is a lot of writing there:
There's no question that you should pick up a PlayStation 3. There are sooo many reasons why, that I seriously can't name it all or I won't end up posting this answer until late tomorrow night.
Some of the best reasons:
~Price - For $300, you get everything you need in a console. It has bluetooth, wifi, free online service, netflix, Life with PlayStation, PS Home and more for just that one admission tag of $300. All of those named above and much more is available for no extra cost.
~Reliability - Under 10% compared to the above 33% and possibly 54% (estimation) on the 360, you won't have to worry too much about your PS3 breaking.
~Life Cycle - It will last you longer than any console you have right now. Launched in 2006, the PS3 will go on well past next year and into 2016 and beyond. The Wii is expected to get dumped for a new Nintendo console by 2011 at least, while the new Microsoft console is also expected for 2011.
~Online Service - PlayStation Network. It's free, it's fun, it's lag-free and it constantly grows. When signing up, you get treated to PlayStation Home, free demos and videos, movies, TV Shows, music, Netflix and more. PSN runs on dedicated servers, which gives gamers an almost entirely lag-free experience. Only downside is that the developers choose when they want to bring their servers down.
~Games - The PS3 now has the highest rated exclusive game of all time (Uncharted 2: Among Thieves). Other AAA titles/franchises include:
Metal Gear Solid 4
LittleBigPlanet
MotorStorm
Resistance
Killzone 2
inFamous
Ratchet & Clank
Warhawk
MLB: The Show
Heavenly Sword
as well as upcoming titles. Those games up there are just some that I would recommend to you. Very well worth it.
If this was 2006-2007, I would tell you to get an Xbox 360. It is now 2009, and the PlayStation 3 is a whole new beast.
For $300, you get things built into your system that the Xbox 360 would cost more for. It costs more to maintain and enhance your 360 experience, and the games feel slightly outdated in this day and age.
Blu-Ray is not on the Xbox 360, so if you ever want to watch a Blu-Ray movie, it would cost you a whole different standalone product, unless you get the PlayStation 3.
Uncharted 2 is praised as being the best looking game on any platform to date. Recently, it became the highest rated exclusive game of all time, with a 97% metacritic score. Yes, that's above Halo and Mario. Many more games will be released both exclusively and multiplatform for the system well after both the Xbox 360 and Wii are gone.
If you like taking trips to the past, PlayStation 1 (and soon PS2 & Dreamcast) games are accessible through the PlayStation Store.
$60 would buy you a game with all it's features on the PS3. On the 360, you would have to give Microsoft an extra $50 yearly for the privilege to use that game to it's full potential.
$200-$300 can buy you a console with features that would cost you extra separately and a failure rate well over 30%. Or, it can buy you the 3rd fastest selling console of all time (believe it or not, but it's true. PS2 is number 1, Wii is number 2) with less than 9% failure rate.

Don't get the Xbox 360. As for all your friends that may have it, most of them will probably get the "red ring of death" and paying to play online is dumb. Buy a PS3 and with the money you're saving for online, you can get games. I advise you one thing though. Don't get the PS3 Slim. It looks cheap, the disc eject button and the power button look cheap and it isn't as good as the original PS3 ("fat"). Get a refurbished PS3 ("fat"). There is different kinds however, and a refurbished PS3 "fat" 60GB is actually worth more than a brand new PS3 Slim. A refurbished 60GB PS3 "fat" is rare and they are unbelievably nice. The 60GB PS3 "fat" is the very original PS3 and it is the best one in terms of everything. (I have this by the way) It has a chrome finish which the PS3 "fat"s that came out after didn't have. The chrome finish on it is super nice. Also, it has 4 USB ports compared to the other PS3s (other "fat" versions and the new PS3 Slims) which only have 2! Also this 60GB has media card slots such as an SD card slot so you can take the memory card out of your camera and view or store your pictures on your PS3. Also, it's backwards compatibility so it can play PS2 games as well, which none of the following built PS3s have. AND it has the ability to be used as a computer, running Linux. All of this is what is so special about this 60 GB version PS3 (fat) and is the real deal PS3 with everything which unfortunately Sony stopped making and the following versions of the fat didn't have the stunning chrome finish, or backwards compatibility, didn't have 4 USB ports, no media card slots, and more. I really suggest you get the PS3 (fat) 60GB, which isn't fat at all by the way, just extremely nice! You can get them from EB Games and Gamestop, and other stores like that! Also, the 60GB has touch sensitive buttons for eject and power unlike the PS3 slim which has really really cheap buttons.
**Also, Xbox 360 controllers aren't even chargeable, you need to change the batteries! PS3 controllers don't require batteries and you can recharge them through a USB cord. Also, PS3 has an Internet Browser to go on any website, and I even found out a way to download MP3 music to my PS3. Also, how can Microsoft/Xbox make online gaming better if you pay for it! Impossible, people just say it is better because a lot of people have an Xbox 360 and they play their friends on it online and they say the online is better and faster which doesn't make sense at all cause that depends on your internet connection!
EDIT: don't listen to the 3rd guy he is a complete dummy! PS3 has blu-ray games, the graphics are 10x better, I even was told so by a Microsoft / Xbox Rep and an EB Games employee.

I have both the ps3 and the 360. If you are worried about hard drive space, the PS3 allows you to swap the hard drive for a bigger one. Recently I saw a story where Microsoft was going to ban up to a million accounts of people who have changed their hardware. But the main thing you need to consider, what games do you want to play, what consoles do your friends have (it would not be good to have an xbox if all your friends were playing the ps3). Remember to play online with the xbox, you have to have a live gold account which costs 49.99 a year, sometimes can be on sale for as low as $30. Also look at the accessories you are going to need. Charging stands, extra controllers etc.

Yeah xbox has a better online department, but they've been at it a longer time. Sony's online is still good and satisfies me. I was an xbox 360 fan for a long time before i switched, but im finally starting to like the PS3 a lot more. Free online play mostly. It has multiple uses other than games as well like a web browser music finder and photo sharer, not to mention blue ray, but i use it for games, and it excels greatly in that department. If you want to use the system for a lot more things than just games, but also want a great gaming console, get the ps3. If you want to focus more on just playing games then get the xbox 360.

Okay yea so You do get free PS3 live or wateva its called but its not to say it is highly Un User friendly takes ages to load alot of games. Very Disorganised.
When with 360 it is so easy to use a 1 year old baby could use it. It is so quick. To load. like 1 sec and it is very organised. Yes everyone knows about the red rings of death duh but hey thats the only thing PS3 fans have on us cause xbox have a 3 year warranty if you get the red rings so yea with PS3 its cooling system is HORRIBLE ( i have had both ) The Xbox elite is awesome so yea plus xbox has lots of games that PS3 doesn't have.
So yea i think you know what to get ( xbox elite )
Plus there are many ps3 owners that are like oh yea PS3 is da best yet they have never had a 360.
So yea Do the right and get ya self a night Elite =]
Regards Marc.
Yankees also said that the xbox battieries arent rechargable thats the biggest bullshit i have evre heard he is obviously a PS3 pure. Not owning bothe. Cause you can recharge them its called the ***PLAY''N''CHARGE KIT***
Source(s): Me having bothe ps3 and xbox i have the right to say I KNOW wich is better. - MatthewLv 51 decade ago
PS3 Slim. Really the only thing that the 360 has that the PS3 doesn't is an established reputation for great online gaming. And that's only because its online service is newer. You can't go wrong with the PS3.

That should tell you something lol. Good luck
