How expensive do you think this horse is?

I want to get him!

Horses Name: Envy Me (Aspen) Gender: Gelding Price: Please call

Age: 4 y.o. Size: 17.1 ½ hh Temperament: 2

Coloring: Dapple Dk. Grey Markings: 2 white stockings, dark mane & tail

Breed: Thoroughbred Discipline(s): Hunter/Dressage prospect

Rider Level Best Suited For: Intermediate Advanced

Brief Description: Yes, he’s drop-dead gorgeous, but Aspen will work to win you over with

his kind eye and impeccable ground manners. He is a show-stopper with uphill confirmation

and elegant, rhythmic gaits. Aspen is just beginning his training and has already demonstrated

a terrific work ethic and a great mind.

Update:

He is started in jumping and looks gorgeous jumping too!

Update 2:

Opps I forgot to say:

The other horses at the barn that are for sale are between $2000 and $12000.

He is younger than all the other and the ones around 5 are around $3000-$4500. The 8y.o.s are a bit more expensive.

I e-mailed the barn and asked the price and for more information, I just asked on here because I wanted to know what you thought.

I don't mind putting in training work.

If he has been raced maybe $1500 - $2500. If he hasn't and has been started slowly and well and has great bloodlines and conformation then between $2000 and $3000.

Edit: Just googled him - he is nice looking but doesn't have great conformation - not bad, but not great. Has a nice jump, but I would be concerned about how much they are doing with him right now.

I'm guessing it is simply that plenty of those youngsters posting right here do not fully grasp their father and mother sales and believe that they are able to magically pull cash out in their backsides, so whilst they'll desire a most sensible pageant horse, it doesn't suggest they're going to be getting that both. Besides, among the horses they submit up are nowhere close the money that is being requested, I additionally do not see the factor in shopping a ridiculously high-priced animal if all you are ever going to do is piddle approximately a small path on it. There is alot to be stated for taking the effort and time to deliver on a rather low cost horse your self, no less than then you'll be able to think you completed some thing.

  • Honestly, you can't really tell from this information.

Does it show his pedigree? Who his parents are? Grandparents? What sort of show or performance records they have?

He's just starting training. His value will go up with training. His value will go up with showing, more specifically, winning. This is a horse that, if you buy now, you will be putting in most of the work - paying for most of the work, either with your own time, or with a trainer.

If you're that serious, you'd have called about the price. I wouldn't pay more than $5000, unless his parents are exceptional.
