Which jar of water will get cold faster, a quart jar or a half gallon jug?
For sake of argument, both are glass containers and both in the same refrigerator at the same temperature. Now, keep your cool and find me an answer. Thanks.

A quart jar, definitely.
because the mass of the liquid in the half gallon is twice that of the liquid in the quart jar, it will require twice as much energy to reduce the temperature by the same amount.
(1 cal of energy is required to change the temperature of 1 cubic centimeter of h2o by 1 degree Celsius)
Assuming that the heat exchange is consistent and constant, it will take the half gallon jar twice as long to achieve a given temperature as it will the quart jar.

The quart has less mass so would require less energy in kilojoules to cool.
