You can get training collars at your local pet store to train them not to pull.It is a metal collar and I know this may sound bad but honestly it does not hurt the dog badly, but they have poky things on the inside that kind of pokes them a little when they start to pull.It really works you should try it.Yes pit bulls are very stubborn breeds so this collar won't hurt them it just gives them a warning when they are pulling.

with my unsocialized german shepherd i adopted he proved to be very intelligent as well lol!
what training i like is clicker training..its gives reinforcement to the dog saying if i do something to hear the click something great will come to me! so lets start easy first!
start by approaching the dog with the leash..and click and give her a treat! she will become more interested that way...(u may have to teach her first it will take about a day or two for them to get used to the clicker sound and that rewards come through the clicking..
next..u put on her leash and if she pulls u stop and try to make no movement until she comes back to u to see y ur not coming..(she most likely will if u stay as still as possible) after she does that click and reward..then go one more step..she probably will pull again..but keep repeating it until she knows that if she pulls one step u WILL stop and go nowhere with her...
then try to steps and add more gradually..then easily work ur way outside in the back yard..and then on ur sidewalk in ur front of the house..until u can trust her to walk..
NVR use a choke chain! it will associate walks as bad!
also the first couple times u stop like on the first step when she pulls it may take up to 5-20 minutes possibly even more before they stop..so it all depends on ur dog...patience is key
also nvr yell when the dog isnt getting it..it will associate training as bad..
GOOD LUCK!

I'd look into an obediance class for her. You most likely will need to train with a prong collar, and you will need to learn how to use it properly.

They are very intelligent creatures. Be careful though. Pits are a type of animal you want to train as pups, not full grown adults.
