What do you think of the name River?

It' a fine name. A good middle name would be "Boatgambler"

I like the name, but you should definitely have a normal middle for the child. I love out there names, but you don't want the name to be way way out there.

River Autumn, Summer, Spring, or Winter

DO Try something like:

River Jane

CUTE! And my name is Skye, so all the nay-sayers who say "think of the child, not yourself" or "your kid will be mercilessly teased" should be ignored. If you are naming your kid Abcdefg, it would be different. But River is not some made-up name. I would strongly discourage you from misspelling it, though, like Ryver, or Rivver, or some other goofy perversion!

I don't know if you mean for a boy or a girl...which pretty much sums up why I'm not a huge fan of the name...
