Fraser Island Queensland Track Conditions?
I have a Subaru Forester. A soft roader. I will be spending a week or so around Hervey Bay. I have no off road experience (I have the car because of skiing). Fraser Island is not far away. What are the tracks on the island like? Do they need any special skill to drive or can any turkey drive them safely? Will a Forester have sufficient ground clearance? I will err on the side of caution.
I have road tyres.

I would say that a Forester would have a problem with many of the tracks on Fraser (including the beach near the ferries from Inskip Point) because of its lack of ground clearance. The tracks to Central Station and Lake McKenzie have very deep ruts and bumps at times and it can even be very uncomfortable in something like a Landcruiser though they're able to manage because of their much greater ground clearance.
