Where is Bloess, Bavaria?
According to a copy of 19th century emigration papers I have, I had an ancestor who came from Bloess, Bavaria. I cannot find any reference to that town/city. Where is it?
I have found Regensburg and Strubing on the map. Where is Bloss in relation to those? And what other towns are near it?

It's "Blöß"..which is just a tiny spot on the map...
It is located near Straubing/ Regensburg (southeastern Bavaria- not too far from me) ...

first go here: http://maps.google.de/maps
then copy and paste the following into the search field:
Blöß, 94353 Haibach, Straubing-Bogen, Bayern
after that, you will be able to see it, it's no more than a crossroads, if at all....it may have been a town way back when..... then you can zoom in and out to get a better idea where it is in relation to other towns and cities!
