Vegetarian Restaurant in St. Louis, MO.?
Hi, I am doing research (only research) to understand how a vegetarian restaurant would fair in St. Louis. I'm not talking about tofu and lettuce that most are accustomed to, but rather an alternative to meat. What if it had things like soy steaks, chicken, fish, shrimp, burgers, etc. that actually tasted good and you weren't afraid to touch it. Real meals, I'm talking about, in a nice establishment. Not way too fancy but defiantly not an order at the counter type of place either. And you could still get the tofu and lettuce if you wanted. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.
By the way, I am not looking for a vegetarian restaurant in St. Louis. I am talking about if I was to open one up. and I do go to McDonald's and tell them to hold the meat...

I'd go! Open up somewhere where college kids have easy access but not so close (i.e. the Loop, the CWE) that there are already enough veggie or veggie-enough restaurants to choose from. I'd love to see one in South County, since it seems like all they've got are fast food (I work out down there, so post workout? I noticed, LOL) and they'd have to go in to the city for anything along the lines of what you're proposing. There's a real dearth of non-chain restaurants anywhere but the aforementioned places, so going out to the county could be a real boon.

McDonalds. Just tell them to hold the meat.

Depending on where you have it. It might work. Maybe if you put it on Manchester down by the gay bars.
